Reliability Engineer

Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Reliability Engineer is to track, analyze, and improve upon the reliability of the plant equipmentThis is an onsite position. At this time, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, either now or in the future. Therefore, we cannot move forward with candidates who would require sponsorship and or are on (e.g., H-1B, F-1, STEM OPT, OPT) visas.What you will work on:Guide efforts to improve reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems through multifunctional team meetings (TTI)Analyze, update, and improve equipment PM system (Maximo)Identify and develop solutions to reduce losses from repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issuesApply Root-Cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA)Provide subject matter expert (SME) level technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical personnelApply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/re-design, and make/buy decisionsInitiate spare part asset inventory with collaboration between maintenance and engineeringOwn, initiate, and track PdM systems throughout the plant. Consistently review technologies to determine where improvements can be made.Project Manage in-house and 3rd party equipment upgradesWork with Engineering, Maintenance, and production to execute equipment reliability improvements RelationshipsReport to the Engineering & Maintenance ManagerStrategic in nature and should not be relegated to a production or maintenance engineering tactical functionMust be able to work with Maintenance and engineering as well as report out to Executive LeadershipWork EnvironmentWork is performed in a combination of climate-controlled office space and manufacturing/production environments.Exposure to noise, heat, fumes, dust, and moving equipment may occur while on the production floor.Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas.Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.Measures of PerformanceSafety and environmental targets are metQuality levels meet acceptable standardsDepartment productivity meets acceptable levelsSuccessful completion of required quality auditsJob RequirementsWhat you will bring to the role:A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, OR equivalent relevant experience is requiredThree plus (3+) years heavy industrial experience preferred Strong PC skills including Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, AutoCAD, MS Project and Access, project scheduling, and specification on writingAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational, leadership, and troubleshooting skillsExperience with PdM systems and technologiesMaximo knowledge a plusHydraulic, Combustion, and Electrical knowledge a plusNo third-party candidate submissions are being accepted at this time for this opening.About Kaiser Aluminum: Talented people join our team because we are a company passionate about environmental sustainability, employee growth, contributing back to our communities and championing a diverse and inclusive culture.
