Travel MICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Shift Contract in Columbus, Ohio

Travel RN Job Details

• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• End Date: March 1, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940–$2,040
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2 patients per nurse
• Charting: Epic
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling
• Float Requirement: May float to other units within the healthcare system as needed

MICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Medical ICU or adult critical-care nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license with a valid compact or applicable state license in hand at the time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Demonstrated experience with adult critical-care patients, ventilator management, and care of mechanically ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
• Experience caring for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Experience with continuous IV sedation
• Epic charting experience
• Current flu vaccination is required; medical exemptions may be considered
• Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after acceptance

Travel ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the MICU
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal failure, liver failure, COVID-related complications, post-cardiac arrest conditions, and multisystem organ failure
• Provide care for mechanically ventilated patients and perform ongoing ventilator assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation and other critical-care therapies
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Monitor hemodynamic, neurologic, respiratory, and metabolic status and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Use critical-care equipment and technology, including CRRT systems, IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and ventilators
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, IV services, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, and other members of the care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Float to other units within the healthcare system when needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
