Accounting Assistant

Part-time (Minimum 5 hours/week) with the possibility of transitioning to full-time Location: Hybrid (Office in Buda, Texas, and Remote) Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mission Statement: Preparing dedicated gospel workers to reach the unreached, disciple believers, and fortify their journey with Christ, while building a global network of kingdom builders. Job Summary: The Part-Time Accounting Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the CFO and other executive team members. They will primarily be responsible for assisting the CFO with accounting functions and collaborating in preparation and maintenance of financial reports and records. This role involves assisting with financial processes and maintaining financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting the mission of SWHarvest. Spiritual Qualifications: Maintains a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as a baptized believer Possesses a passion to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ in all nations with the ability and experience to effectively present the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly and concisely Believes in the mission and vision of SWHarvest Agreement with and willingness to live by the doctrinal convictions as set forth in the Serving Workers for the Harvest Statement of Faith Demonstrates integrity, humility, resilience, and a servant’s heart as described in the Bible (1 Timothy 3; Proverbs 31) Education & Experience: Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in administrative support, bookkeeping, or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit Required: High school diploma or equivalent Essential: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (Business Administration, Accounting, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field) Skills & Qualifications: Personal: Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a servant’s heart Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and basic internet skills Familiarity and proficiency specifically with PowerChurch accounting software or other accounting software Key Responsibilities: Accounting and Financial Support: Assist with basic financial tasks, including donation processing, expense tracking, and invoice management Use software for accounting purposes, including data entry and reporting Support the preparation and maintenance of financial reports, records and audit reportsUpdate and maintain databases, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information Update and maintain databases, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information Assist with data entry and record-keeping tasks Compliance & Documentation: Monitor compliance with legal and ethical standards, and ensure all necessary documentation is up to date Administer departmental records and streamline organizational guidelines to ensure policy and procedural compliance. General: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, providing administrative and logistical support Perform other related tasks as needed to support the overall mission and operations of SWHarvest Collaborate with SWHarvest staff to foster growth in accomplishing the goals of reaching, discipling, and multiplying the kingdom of Christ Compensation: Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
