Company Description Garden Path Counseling is a mental health practice dedicated to helping individuals recognize their inner strengths and move toward meaningful change. The team provides a neutral, safe environment, offering individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. Services include individual and couples therapy for concerns such as trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, adult ADHD, career issues, chronic illness, anger management, self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Role Description The Mental Health Counselor is a full-time, hybrid role that will be based in our new Independence, OH office, with some work-from-home flexibility. The counselor will conduct individual and couples counseling sessions, complete intake assessments, and develop customized treatment plans aligned with client goals and evidence-based practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating care with other providers when needed, and managing a consistent caseload. The counselor will monitor client progress, provide crisis intervention as appropriate, and adjust interventions to address evolving needs. Additional tasks may involve participating in case consultations, continuing education, and contributing to a supportive, ethical practice environment. Qualifications Strong clinical foundation in Mental Health and Psychology, with the ability to apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Demonstrated expertise in Treatment Planning and Case Management to coordinate care and track client progress effectively. Experience in Relationship Counseling, including work with couples and interpersonal relationship issues. Relevant master’s degree (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology) and active or eligible state licensure (e.g., LPC, LPCC, LISW, LMFT or PsyD). Competence in trauma-informed care and working with anxiety, depression, and other common presenting concerns. Excellent communication skills, professional boundaries, and the ability to build trusting, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationships. Comfort with hybrid work arrangements and use of secure telehealth platforms and electronic health records.
