Electrician

Responsible for the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to VFP standards.Must possess knowledge of applicable electrical codesMust have the ability to interpret engineering drawingsMust provide working leadership to others in the departmentMust offers suggestions for products, manufacturing procedures, and documentation improvementsMust interpret control prints and hook-up all controlsPerform Electrician B job duties when neededMust have the ability to read blueprints with minimal assistanceMust have the ability to run conduit, install wireway, wire AC units and install lighting fixturesMust have the ability to mount and hook-up transfer switches and wire generatorsMust have the ability to install load centers, EVC boxes, and drill holesMust be able to climb laddersMust maintain good housekeeping practices to include keeping the work area clean and neat and make sure aisles are clear of equipment, cords, tow motors, etc.Other duties as assignedKnowledge/SkillsAbility to effectively present information to customers and other employeesAbility to perform basic mathematical formulasAbility to understand and follow instructions given verbally, written, or in diagram formKnowledge of the occupational hazards of the electrical trade and necessary safety precautionsSkill in the use and care of tools and/or equipmentVFP | Explore CareersHigh school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
