Evenings/Nights Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Opening in Central Connecticut

A leading regional healthcare organization in Central Connecticut is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care and management of patients in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). This is an evening and night shift role .

This position collaborates closely with physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care and optimal clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the Critical Care Unit.

• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with Critical Care physicians.

• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging results.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings.

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning discussions.

• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care needs.

Qualifications Required

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut.

• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in critical care, intensive care, or a related acute care setting.

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
