Seeking: Packaging Specialist – 1st Shift

Location: Houston, TX 77028
Pay: $20.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Important: This position requires working in a safety-sensitive manufacturing environment. Applicants must be comfortable following all safety requirements, including remaining clean-shaven at all times to properly wear a respirator.

Openwork is hiring a Packaging Specialist for a leading manufacturing facility in Houston. If you have experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, material handling, forklift operation, or machine operation , this is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values quality, teamwork, and safety. This is a hands-on position that combines packaging responsibilities with general labor duties to support daily production operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Package finished products according to customer and shipping specifications.
• Wrap, crate, and secure heavy lead products for safe transportation.
• Weigh, measure, label, and verify finished products before shipment.
• Inspect packaged products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with shipping requirements.
• Operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
• Read and follow work orders and production instructions.
• Perform general labor duties, including moving materials and supporting production as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or material handling experience.
• Forklift experience required.
• Previous machine operating experience is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work and lifting 50–75 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a commitment to safety.

Work Environment & Safety:

• Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with spot coolers.
• Work with lead-based materials in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Must wear a half-mask respirator throughout the shift.
• Must remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure a proper respirator seal.
• Daily showering before leaving the facility and periodic blood testing are required.
• Must follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
