Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Cardiac Stepdown unit specializing in post-procedure recovery and management of cardiac patients. The role involves monitoring complex cardiac conditions, interpreting EKG strips, and providing comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients, including post-heart caths, CHF, COPD, and arrhythmias.
• Read and interpret EKG strips accurately to inform clinical decisions.
• Titrate Heparin and other set-rate drips as required, while managing patient treatments effectively.
• Perform ADLs, blood glucose testing, and assist with distributions of medications and equipment.
• Respond to patient needs promptly, collaborating with the healthcare team for optimal care.
• Document patient statuses and interventions thoroughly and accurately.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with active certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Proven ability to read EKG strips and manage cardiac patients.
• Experience with post-cardiac cath recovery, CHF, COPD, and arrhythmia management.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexible shift schedules.
• Ability to perform patient assessments, administer titratable IV medications, and use monitoring equipment.
