Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: BSN not required Description: 24 bed unit with a ratio of 1:3/4 depending on acuity. Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and patients requiring IV drip medications. An educator works closely with staff on the unit. Types of medication drips include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine. May work up to every other weekend. High patient throughput expected, as is standard in stepdown units. Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13-week contract or 2 shifts per shorter contracts. Charting system used is EPIC. Trauma level is 2. Care setting is acute nursing.
