Role Purpose Under the supervision of a registered technologist, the student performs imaging procedures to adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The student must be currently enrolled in an imaging program. Illinois: Following IEMA guidelines as it pertains to administering radiation/making exposures. Responsibilities Assists the technologist with imaging procedures; students require direct supervision in surgery. Escorts or transports patients to and from the examination area, assists the technologist with patient transfers to and from imaging tables, and assists patients as needed. Assists outpatients with completing information necessary to the procedure.
