Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager Position located in Hahnville, Louisiana, United States. Full‑time. Responsibilities Develop, manage, and participate in programs, methods, systems, and practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Direct and motivate subordinates’ participation in programs, methods, systems, and practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Develop the required human resources capability for achieving the required Taft Plant Maintenance goals. Direct the activities of the Taft Technical Maintenance Department in a manner that achieves quality maintenance in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. Control maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting future maintenance requests. Direct work of outside contractors permanently assigned to the Taft Plant. Develop effective liaison with Division and Corporate staff to enhance planning for efficient use of property and equipment. Direct planning and scheduling program and its effectiveness through the use of established benchmarks and parameters. Ensure that open lines of communication exist between the Maintenance Organizations and all other plant departments by supporting I.M. techniques. Ensure consistency of application and administration of all policies, including affirmative action and diversity programs. Maintain overall physical facilities of plant in targeted condition and recommend capital funds for replacement, expansion, and modernization. Evaluate the site’s Process Safety and Risk Accountability system as described by procedure HESP‑610 annually to ensure that programs accurately reflect OxyChem’s current process safety and risk management efforts and goals. Create, review, and evaluate the sites’ overall PSM organization/responsibilities and their effectiveness to correct deficiencies according to procedure HESP‑610. Participate and accept responsibility for meeting plant and individual PSM goals and monthly spreadsheet responsibilities as required by HESP‑610 Procedure. Actively participate in plant’s Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to assure a safe and environmentally sound workplace. Assume accountability for meeting plant safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments. Actively participate in safety meetings and various other HESS programs while promoting safety through offering recommendations to other employees on working safely. Develop, establish, and maintain systems for key performance indicator metrics for tracking and measuring system performance against business objectives. Maintain close communications with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Tech Services, and Transportation to ensure that customer requirements are understood and necessary actions are taken to maximize customer satisfaction. Support and fulfill the requirements of the plant’s ISO Quality System. Ensure open lines of communications exist across plant departments and with all plant employees. Ensure consistency of application and administration of all policies, including EEO, affirmative action, and diversity programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Ten years experience in plant operations, with resolution of equipment or people issues prior to impact on plant production and delivery. Experience in a safe, environmentally clean, cost‑effective and expansion atmosphere preferred. Ability to travel to all areas in the facility which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs, and traveling long distances. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to respond to audible and visual alarms. Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
