Direct Support ProfessionalA leading community-based organization known for person-centered services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization provides residential, community, and day support services that help each person live a full, independent, and connected life. Full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules are available, including days, evenings, and weekends. No prior experience is required for candidates with the right heart and reliability; paid training and certification support are provided. Direct support staff receive paid orientation, shadow shifts with experienced team members, and ongoing training in areas such as person-centered planning, positive behavior support, and medication administration. Supervisors are accessible and supportive, schedules are built to be consistent week to week, and there are clear paths to grow into lead, coordinator, and supervisory roles for team members who want to advance.Core ResponsibilitiesSupport individuals with daily living skills including personal care, meal preparation, and household routinesFollow each person's individual support plan and help them work toward personal goalsAssist with medication administration after completing required certificationProvide transportation to appointments, work, and community activitiesEncourage community participation, relationships, and independenceDocument daily notes, progress, and incidents accurately and on timeRecognize and report health, safety, or behavioral concerns promptlyUse positive, respectful approaches and de-escalation techniques when neededMaintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environmentCommunicate professionally with families, guardians, and team membersSupport individuals in making their own choices and speaking up for their needs and interestsParticipate in team meetings, trainings, and planning sessions for the people you supportRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver license, reliable transportation, and current auto insuranceAbility to complete required state DSP training and certifications within the timeframe set by the employerCurrent CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain through paid trainingExperience in caregiving, healthcare, education, or human services preferred but not requiredAbility to pass a background check and meet health screening requirementsPatience, reliability, and a respectful, encouraging communication styleWillingness to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduledBenefits & PayPay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and schedule.
