Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, enabling tailored therapeutic strategies.

  • Utilize evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to deliver effective therapeutic interventions.

  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and strategies for self-care to empower them throughout their recovery journey.

  • Continuously monitor clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in the treatment of mood disorders, actively incorporating new findings into clinical practice.

  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client sessions, assessments, and treatment plans that meet all legal and ethical requirements.

  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical expertise and contribute to best practices at our center.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a therapist at Brighter Days Mental Health Center, you will work primarily with individuals coping with mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Your therapeutic expertise will play a crucial role in helping these clients navigate their mental health journeys, providing them with the support and skills necessary to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.

  • Proven expertise in delivering evidence-based treatment modalities specific to mood disorders.

  • Strong understanding of psychopharmacology, which aids in effective collaboration with psychiatrists and medical professionals.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in facilitating positive outcomes for clients with mood disorders.

  • Exceptional communication skills that foster rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and ensure culturally competent care.

Preferred Experience\n

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of three years of professional experience in clinical mental health therapy, specifically focusing on mood disorders. Experience in an outpatient psychiatry setting will be highly regarded as well.

Compensation and Benefits\n
