Registered Nurse (NICU)

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Located in the city of Santa Barbara, California, Cottage Children's Medical Center is recognized today as a regional referral center for the medical needs of infants, toddlers, and children throughout the tri-county area. The primary focus of the 22 bed, Level III, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (served by a dedicated RN/RCP Transport team) is the provision of critical nursing care to the infant in crisis. The neonatal patient may suffer from a wide variety of medical conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, meconium aspiration syndrome, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, sepsis and surgical conditions requiring pre and post-operative care. Care ranges from the acute phase to patient needs or conditions necessitating close observation and interventions. The NICU utilizes a comprehensive multi‑disciplinary team approach to meet the patient's needs throughout their hospital stay and we recognize the importance of parents and family as being an important members of the team. Qualifications All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. Education Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) AAP/AHA NRP. Years of Related Work Experience Minimum: 1 year experience in a Level II or III NICU.
