Site Supervisor

$984 - $1,093 per week

Trackers Earth

As a Site Supervisor with Trackers, you own the full operation of a day camp location - setting culture, running administration, and developing the team that delivers the experience that has made us the Best Camp in the Known Universe. You're not just running logistics; you're holding the standard for a camp where kids learn archery, have story adventures, train in wilderness survival, practice woodcraft, create in ceramics, go boating, and apprentice in blacksmithing. If that program genuinely excites you, you'll bring something to this role that no operations resume alone can replicate.

We are an action-packed, fast-paced old school outdoor and craft program. We value competence-building field education where kids earn confidence through real adventure and challenge. Trackers operates with clear safety systems, time-tested procedures, and an intricate camp environment few organizations match-the kind of strong container where serious practitioners thrive.

Who You Are

You've supervised large-scale day camps, educational centers, and childcare programs before. You know what it takes to hold a site with high enrollment, rotating families, and a team of people all needing direction at once. You're not figuring out how day camp operations work, you're bringing that fluency here and learning how to deliver it the Trackers way at a high level of skill and intentionality.

You are organized, direct, and steady under pressure. You coach adults as naturally as you manage logistics. You set the tone for your site's culture by living it, not by posting it on a wall. If you want to bring your operational experience into a program that actually stands for something, you'll find your people here.

Choose Your Track
  • Adventure: Lead outdoor programs to forests, rivers, and farms, teaching wilderness survival, tracking, archery, fishing, and folk craft, often within story adventures that include secret agents, ninjas, wizards, elves, and more.
  • Basecamp: Lead onsite classes including tabletop role-playing games, archery instruction, learn-to-bike, art and maker crafts, and hands-on camps built around teams, missions, and skill development.
Skills & Experience
  • Day camp or childcare operations: 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role at a large-scale day camp, childcare center, after-school program, or youth recreation program with demonstrated responsibility for staff, families, and site operations
  • Administrative fluency: Direct experience with payroll processing, staff scheduling and attendance tracking, enrollment management, or equivalent operations administration
  • Staff development: Demonstrated ability to coach, evaluate, and hold accountable a team of 10 or more staff across varying experience levels
  • Program implementation: You don't just manage logistics-you understand curriculum, instruction quality, and what it looks like when a program is being delivered well versus drifting
  • Family and customer service: You communicate professionally with parents and guardians under pressure, de-escalate effectively, and build trust with families across a full season
  • Certifications (preferred): Current CPR/First Aid, Lifeguard or Wilderness First Aid a plus; childcare administrator credentials or Director Qualified status a plus
  • Background check: Must pass state and federal background clearance per childcare program requirements
Successful Trackers Site Supervisors come from backgrounds including day camp director or assistant director roles, childcare center director or program supervisor positions, YMCA/JCC program management, parks and recreation leadership, and large after-school program coordination. Along with search and rescue leadership, restaurant management, middle school teaching, and outdoor program management. We share DNA with many worlds, but our focus is simple: building teams that help kids build independence through competence, community, and time outdoors.

What You're Responsible For
  • Administration: Process weekly payroll, manage staff scheduling and daily attendance, maintain enrollment records and licensing documentation, and keep site compliance current. You own the paperwork that keeps the site running legally and cleanly.
  • Family and Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for parent and guardian concerns at your site. Communicate proactively about student needs, resolve complaints with professionalism and authority, and build the kind of family trust that drives retention and referrals.
  • Safety: Hold site-wide situational awareness across all programs, students, staff, and conditions. Ensure Coordinators are making sound calls, intervene early on risk, and own the emergency response chain. You are the final safety decision-maker on site.
  • Operations: Oversee the day as a multi-track live operation. Audit flow, transitions, staffing ratios, vehicle and gear readiness, and schedule integrity across all groups. Identify and close gaps before they affect program quality.
  • Staff Leadership: Hire, onboard, schedule, coach, and evaluate your site team. Conduct regular feedback conversations, document performance issues, and develop Coordinators into stronger leaders. You build the team; the team builds the program.
  • Culture: You are the culture. Set the standard for how Trackers shows up-in instruction quality, in care for kids, in how staff treat each other and families. Your site reflects your leadership.
  • Program Implementation: Ensure Trackers programming is delivered with fidelity and skill across all tracks. You understand what good looks like and you coach toward it, not just compliance.
Kids Run Camp

At Trackers, we build independence through shared service, not free play. Your job is to ensure your entire team-Coordinators and Guides alike-is training kids into real duties: team roles, routines, gear care, and support of younger students. You protect the conditions that make this possible by running a tight operation, holding your staff to a high standard, and owning the culture of your site from the first day of camp to the last.

Schedule & Program Structure
  • Camp Weeks: June 15 - Sept 4, 2026
  • Training & Prep: May 18-June 5, 2026 (start date may be flexible depending on experience)
  • Day Camps: ~ 45-49 hours per week (fixed weekly rate; workload flexes with conditions and program needs)
Pay & Compensation

  • Weekly Pay (Summer 2026): $984-$1,093/week
  • Training Pay: Training is paid at local minimum wage; add-ons do not apply during training
This is a salaried, exempt leadership role with a fixed weekly rate (not hourly timekeeping). Weekly workload may vary with enrollment, logistics, and program needs.

Physical Readiness

This is a hands-on role. Physical demands vary by program assignment. Reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals.

Adventure - Outdoors

  • Supervise safely in outdoor conditions: heat, cold, rain, and snow; operate in heat index up to 104°F and AQI 69-150 with modified breaks and activity levels as needed
  • Arrive prepared for the outdoor environment with insulated and waterproof outdoor clothing and footwear appropriate to environmental conditions
  • Ride transport with students via van/bus as assigned, including extended rides in noisy vehicle cabins
Basecamp - Classroom
  • Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs (tools/materials)
  • Stand and move between workstations for extended periods (typically 3-5 hours)
  • Use equipment with safe control, coordination, and attention to detail while supervising students
  • Maintain shop safety protocols in active, noisy workshop and studio environments; occasionally transport materials or equipment between locations
Required Certifications
  • CPR & First Aid (or ability to obtain before start)
  • Emergency allergy response training
  • Mandated Reporter Training (Oregon; 18+)
  • Each certification is due 2-weeks before start date.
Additional Requirements
  • Background check + references
  • Valid driver's license held 2+ years (for driving assignments)
  • Complete required Trackers trainings (paid)
  • Program Dependent: Food Handler's Permit (food prep) + Fishing License (fishing programs)
Driving & CDL - Placement-Dependent
  • Optional: Basecamp - Onsite programs
  • Required: Adventure - Transported programs
  • Pay bump: CDL Class B + Passenger Endorsement qualifies (see pay rubric).
  • Eligibility: 21+ years, Valid U.S. driver's license, Clean MVR (past 3 years; no major violations)
