Maintenance Technician, 3rd Shift

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensuring safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
• Interpreting blueprints and schematics when working on machines
• Installing, aligning, dismantling and moving stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
• Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Installing, troubleshooting and maintaining power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems
• Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
• Operating machine tools such as welders, lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
• Cleaning, lubricating and performing other maintenance work on machinery
• Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Completing all paperwork as required
• Other duties as assigned

Position requirements include:

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Mechanical and equipment experience in an industrial environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Overtime may be required

Pay range: $25-$35+ depending on experience
