Details 13-week contract in a high-acuity Medical ICU (MICU) at a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across both campuses Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) Standard patient ratio is 2:1; ratio may increase to 4:1 when boarding patients awaiting inpatient transfer Medically complex, critically ill patient population including respiratory failure requiring noninvasive or mechanical ventilation, post-cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, CVA post-tPA, COVID, ARDS, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal Common bedside procedures include central and arterial line placement, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and code blue response One CNA per shift available for support Charting via Epic EMR Weekend shifts required Floating to telemetry units may be required based on census, though it is expected to be rare Local candidates are not accepted Requirements Active WA RN license or compact RN license Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of MICU or comparable critical care RN experience Epic EMR experience required Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination Scrubs may be any color except reddish-orange Facility-paid parking Minimal RTO is expected; up to 2 RTO requests may be pre-approved American Traveler Job ID #P-710823.
