Electrical Maintenance Technician – Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Exercise safe working practice at all times, complying with Lock-Out/ Tag-Out procedures.
- Prepare and execute service calls, Emergency Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance.
- Preform Preventive Maintenance & follow-up on Corrective Maintenance work orders.
- Troubleshoot errors on electrical-mechanical fields as well as the basic PLC level in automated handling systems.
- Preform basic PLC and VFD diagnostics, adjust setting/ parameters, and version control and backups.
- Carry out electrical-mechanical and PLC related inspections, corrective and preventive maintenance as well as emergency maintenance.
- Report and document carried-out operations and maintenance activities, including service reports, parts usage and warranty records through the Computer Maintenance Management System.
- Advise and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting the supervisor, control and propose improvements for the quality of the service process.
- Develop service supporting tools and means.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a technical environment, predominantly in industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Degreed and / or certified as an electrician.
- Strong, working knowledge on LMS, sensors, proximity switches and industrial network protocols (Asi, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings/prints.
- Self-Starter and Pro-active
- Detail Oriented and Stress Resistant
- Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Working Knowledge of computers and equipment
- Customer Oriented
- Innovative and Self Assured
- Physically able to pick up and transport up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to complete training and security checks required to receive security badge for access to restricted airport areas.
- Observe and comply with Company, OSHA and FAA regulations regarding safety and security.
- Flexible in shift work and able to work nights, weekends, overtime and holidays.
