UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS100% remote opportunity15 days of vacation your first year – Also, 12 days of sick time, 1 personal holiday, and 11 paid holidays each year100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b)PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESIdentify business and technical impacts of user requirements and articulates to all constituentsAssume responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutionsCreate ad hoc and ongoing reports and other data outputs to support the clinical and business needs for the enterpriseThe Analytics group has a dual report into both ITS and UW School of Medicine and provides operational oversight for the major analytics platforms and tools at UW Medicine. Analytics is a key support function as UW Medicine transitions towards value based health care. The Epic Cogito team provides data and analytic solutions across UW Medicine, specifically for finance, operations, institutional quality improvement, research and clinical analytics. This position is focused to the Epic Clinical domain and works closely with UW Medicine ITS customers, a team of developers, Clinical Informatics, and relevant Epic Applications teams (Inpatient, Ambulatory, Perioperative) to provide analysis, recommend appropriate solutions, and develop those solutions using the best reporting tools to support the need.Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:Collaborating with Analytics leadership to help set direction, standards, process for a team of Cogito and BI DevelopersWorking with Analytics Business Analysts, Clinical Informatics, application teams, and customers to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirementsDesigning, coding, testing, and maintaining reporting and analytics objects, utilizing industry best practicesUtilizing Epic’s Cogito suite of tools to deliver data solutionsProviding production support and respond to help desk tickets related to the BI development tool set and Epic Cogito suiteMentoring and providing guidance, direction, and support to other developersREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of experience/educationCurrently holds 2 or more current Epic certifications OR has obtained Epic proficiency and has consistently demonstrated technical competencies for 3+ years in relevant functional/business areaCertification in Epic Cogito Fundamentals is requiredCertification in Epic Cogito Tools Administration is requiredCertification or experience with Beaker-AP is desired4+ years of experience must include:4+ years’ recent healthcare or IT experience3+ years' experience with BI reporting tools3+ years’ experience with Epic Cogito reporting tools (SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards)Strong, applied experience with Epic data and reporting for medium to large scale projects is desiredComplete and demonstrable understanding of reporting best practices, including requirements gatheringABOUT UW MEDICINE – WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHERUW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
