Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer Part Time Patient Patrol in Towson, MD , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $20.40 / Hour

DayTimeFri02:00 PM - 10:15 PMHow This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions taken according to site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including hallways, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas, while helping to identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity in accordance with location protocols, offering directions and assistance to visitors and staff as needed.
- Support staff and visitors during medical, behavioral, and/or emergency-related situations by contacting the appropriate personnel, following post orders, and helping to maintain orderly conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
