CNC Operator - $20-$23/HR (DOE)

Location: Salem, OR

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 5AM - 3:30PM

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a CNC Operator for a precision metal fabrication shop in Salem, OR . In this fast-paced environment, you'll support the production of engineered steel components-working with cutting, forming, machining, and finishing processes-ensuring quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or lasers)
Load raw materials, execute machine cycles, and monitor outputs
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar tools
Make tool adjustments, handle tool offsets, and perform proof runs
Report machine errors and maintain accurate production logs
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace

Qualifications

1+ years of CNC operation experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication
Proficiency reading blueprints and CAD/model files
Familiarity with G/M codes and precision measuring tools
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
