Job Description Summary Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology, a high degree of technical competency, and the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with a minimum of supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Other duties as deemed necessary. Maintains continuing education through regular in-service education, participates in staff meetings, completes annual departmental competencies, and establishes appropriate work assignments to assure optimum utilization of human and material resources. Performs high-quality diagnostic radiology examinations for the physician’s interpretation; prepares and administers various contrast agents under the supervision of a physician. Practices sterile technique when applicable and universal precautions during procedures/ exams. Monitors any staff and/or student activities during clinical assignments from the technologist’s perspective. Additional Job Description Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: Zero to two years of modality specific work experience. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
