Clinical NurseThe Clinical Nurse provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, this role is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.Essential DutiesEducation: Participates in identifying and meeting personal learning needs.Attends educational programs based on identified learning needs.Utilizes patient education materials relevant to the patient population with assistance.Assesses the readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers.Evaluates the developmental level of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn.Evaluation of Care: Identifies expected patient outcomes.Seeks guidance as needed to revise the plan of care.Participates in discussions with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care.Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.Implementation: Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems, considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required.Utilizes organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs.Consults with appropriate resources in a timely manner for patients with complex care issues.Leadership: Develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations with assistance.Achieves goals and objectives within identified time frames or renegotiates with supervisors.Facilitates intra/interdepartmental collaboration.Participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities.Communicates effectively using established systems.Contributes to cost-effective care practices.Provides constructive feedback to co-workers.Stays informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the healthcare environment.Promotes a safe, clean, and secure environment for all.Patient Assessment: Recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities.Considers the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.Synthesizes assessment data into a cohesive whole for communication.Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of patients and families.Develops relationships with families to enhance their ability to advocate for patients.Planning: Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update care plans.Utilizes multidisciplinary resources when planning care.Utilizes a full range of communication to convey planning efforts.Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning.Demonstrates effective task prioritization for complex cases.Research: Reviews relevant journals and articles to inform practice.Brings ideas and questions to the staff for broader assessment of applicability.Required Skills & ExperienceOne (1) year of nursing experience.Two (2) or more years of MedSurg/Tele experience.Previous neuro experience.Remote Tele experience is highly preferred.EducationRequired Education: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing program.Client Details City Goldsboro State NC
