Mills-Parole Elementary School : Annapolis, MD — After-school session: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM About the Role Ben Bellucci Academy is expanding our wellness programs! We are seeking a calm, creative, and patient After-School Yoga Instructor to introduce elementary students (Grades K-5) to the benefits of yoga, stretching, and mindfulness. In this role, you will help students improve their physical flexibility while teaching them valuable tools for emotional regulation and focus. This is a perfect fit for a certified yoga teacher, a student-teacher, or a fitness professional who loves working with children. Key Responsibilities Yoga Instruction: Lead age-appropriate yoga sequences (poses/asanas) that focus on balance, strength, and flexibility. Mindfulness & Breathing: Teach simple meditation and breathing techniques (Pranayama) to help students manage stress and improve focus. Creative Storytelling: Incorporate themes, music, or storytelling into yoga sessions to keep younger students (K-2) engaged and excited. Safety & Alignment: Ensure students are practicing with proper form and using safe transitions between poses. Environment Building: Create a peaceful, inclusive, and non-competitive atmosphere where every child feels successful. Logistics: Manage student check-in/out and coordinate the setup of yoga mats or designated practice space. Qualifications Experience teaching yoga or movement to children (school, studio, or camp setting). Strong understanding of yoga poses and child-friendly teaching techniques. Ability to maintain a "calm but firm" command of a group of 15–20 children. Reliable transportation to travel between Glen Burnie and Annapolis. Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive fingerprinting and background check meeting Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) vendor standards. Yoga Alliance certification (RYT) or specialized Children’s Yoga training is a significant plus. Schedule & Pay Hours: After-school hours, typically 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM . Commitment: 1–2 days per week (based on program scheduling at these sites). Pay Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour based on certification level and experience. Why Join BBA?
