Howard Elementary Assistant Principal

Reports To: Building Principal

Contract: 205-Day Administrator Contract (or as determined by the Board)

Position Summary: The Elementary Assistant Principal assists the Principal in providing instructional leadership and managing the daily operations of the school to ensure a safe, positive, and academically rigorous learning environment. The Assistant Principal promotes student achievement, supports staff growth, fosters strong relationships with families and the community, and ensures compliance with Indiana law, State Board of Education requirements, and School Board policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Indiana Building Level Administrator License (or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment).
• Valid Indiana Teaching License.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level.
• Demonstrated instructional leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Indiana Academic Standards, MTSS, PBIS, ILEARN, IREAD, and educator evaluation requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Successful completion of all required criminal history background checks.
