Job Title: Journeyman Electrician – Pre-Fab Shop

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as a journeyman-level electrician in a busy pre-fabrication shop in Colonial Heights, Virginia, supporting a large data center project in Sandston. You will focus on building and assembling electrical boxes, interpreting both electrical and mechanical blueprints, and performing hands-on work with a variety of tools and materials in an industrial shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints to accurately assemble electrical boxes for a data center project.
• Perform pre-fabrication electrical assembly, including wiring, control wiring, data wiring, and bending conduit for industrial applications.
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete heavy assembly tasks and installations.
• Construct, install, and assemble electrical components and systems in a shop/warehouse setting.
• Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the assembly process.
• Perform basic welding tasks as needed to support fabrication and assembly work.
• Follow established construction and industrial safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Journeyman-level electrical experience with a minimum of 5+ years in the electrical trade (card not required).
• Proven pre-fabrication electrical assembly experience in a shop or warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints for electrical box assembly.
• Strong proficiency with hand and power tools used in electrical and industrial construction.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in control wiring, data wiring, and bending conduit.
• Experience in industrial electrical work and construction environments.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with heavy assembly work.
• Commitment to following safety practices and procedures in a shop setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in a pre-fab or shop-based electrical role.
• Welding experience, even at a basic level, is beneficial and may be used as needed.
• Experience working on data center or other large-scale industrial electrical projects.
• Comfort working with industrial conduit and complex wiring layouts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards in repetitive assembly work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Chesterfield, VA.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
