Controller Position

Our client, a growing mid-market manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a controller to provide strong financial leadership, streamline processes, and support strategic initiatives as the company continues to scale. The ideal candidate is an accomplished finance professional with a proven background in manufacturing, distribution, or private ownership environments.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership on financial strategy, performance improvement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis across multiple business units.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting.
• Develop KPI-driven dashboards and performance metrics to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support growth and cost efficiency.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance processes.
• Oversee and refine ERP systems and financial reporting tools to improve automation and efficiency.
• Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors, banks, and insurance providers.
• Support strategic initiatives, including inventory optimization, pricing analysis, and capital expenditure projects.
• Mentor and develop accounting team members, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10–20 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 5+ years in a Controller or Director of Finance capacity.
• Proven experience within manufacturing and/or distribution environments; exposure to logistics or multi-entity operations is a plus.
• Strong technical proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement, cost reduction, and data-driven decision support.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and partner with executive management.
