Customer Svc Dept Manager - North Detroit Market

Position Overview We are hiring a Department Manager for the Customer Service/Front End Department at our North Detroit Market locations. The role focuses on team member engagement, operational excellence, and financial management. Locations Auburn Hills, MI; Rochester Hills, MI; 23 Mile Rd – Chesterfield, MI; Lapeer, MI; Port Huron, MI; Washington Twp, MI; Oxford Twp, MI; Marysville, MI; Lenox Twp, MI; Adams Rd – Rochester Hills, MI; Macomb, MI; Lake Orion, MI. Responsibilities Engage with team members to provide onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback. Identify talent and conduct career discussions; support staffing diversity and pipeline for leadership roles. Lead candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and support growth opportunities. Accountable for area operations and financial results; oversee execution of corporate plans, maximize sales and productivity, and manage budget line items in P&L. Drive safety and compliance throughout the store, manage condition and store compliance procedures. Ensure Team Leaders and Leads assign daily work, guide team members, and address training needs. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience. Progressive leadership experience preferred. Passion for providing industry‑leading service. Strong communication skills with clear, precise direction. Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions. Experience leading a safety‑focused organization. Creative, proactive thinking applied to business.
