Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for incarcerated individuals, analyzing factors such as personal histories and presenting mental health concerns. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans collaboratively with inmates, focusing on building emotional well-being and preparing them for successful reintegration into society. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches, to address a variety of mental health challenges. \n
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting skills like emotional regulation and effective coping strategies. \n
- Collaborate with mental health peers across disciplines to coordinate holistic care and address the complex needs of the inmate population. \n
- Provide crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, applying de-escalation techniques, and identifying when further care is warranted. \n
- Educate inmates and their families about mental health issues, fostering understanding and outlining available support resources. \n
- Maintain accurate documentation of clinical assessments and treatment progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards. \n
- Contribute to team meetings and staff workshops, promoting synergy and sharing knowledge within our collaborative environment. \n
- Stay informed about the evolving landscape of mental health legislation, ethical practices, and correctional facility guidelines. \n
Your clients will be individuals in correctional settings, including those facing complex mental health issues. The unique challenges posed by incarceration require sensitivity, understanding, and specialized therapeutic approaches to ensure that clients receive the most effective mental health support possible.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid LICSW licensure in Washington State, ensuring compliance with local regulations. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally with a mental health or correctional focus. \n
- Thorough understanding of mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methods. \n
- Experience in performing comprehensive mental health evaluations and developing tailored treatment strategies. \n
- Demonstrated capacity for delivering both individual and group therapy effectively. \n
- Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage high-stress situations efficiently. \n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling connection and trust with a diverse client demographic. \n
