Principal Responsibilities: Capture the Spirit of Summer What You'll Do:
Agency Information: Surprise Lake Camp, the longest-running Jewish sleepaway camp in the US, is looking for a creative and energetic media intern to join our team this summer! You'll be responsible for capturing the unforgettable spirit of Surprise Lake Camp by generating engaging social media content. Play a pivotal role in conveying SLC's positioning, messaging and storytelling to families who follow us on social media.
- Become a Camp Insider: Become familiarized with SLC's social media "voice" and style.
- Be a Video Storytelling Pro: Immerse yourself in the Surprise Lake Camp experience by attending camp activities and events. Shoot high-quality video content that showcases the fun, friendships, and excitement of camp life.
- Edit Like a Boss: Transform your footage into captivating social media posts optimized for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Content Brainstorming Champion: Help us develop creative content ideas that will resonate with our audiences.
- Social Media Savvy: Stay on top of the latest social media trends and suggest engaging strategies to keep our camp community connected year-round.
- Brand Storytelling Master: Help write copy for social media posts. Ensure all content aligns with Surprise Lake Camp's brand voice and messaging, to strengthen brand recognition and building trust with our community.
- Paid Summer Internship: Gain valuable experience while working at a renowned summer camp.
- Summer Room & Board: Camp provides housing and all meals at our locations 60 miles north of NYC.
- Become Part of the Surprise Lake Camp Family: Immerse yourself in a fun, rewarding, and unforgettable summer experience. Work alongside people from all over the world.
- Opportunity to Extend Remotely: Continue contributing your skills remotely during the school year, 5-10 hours a month. (optional)
- A college student (rising junior or senior) pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (ideally with a love for summer camp!).
- A passionate and creative individual with a knack for storytelling and experience with social media marketing.
- Proficient in video editing software and comfortable with various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
- A keen eye for detail with a strong understanding of visual aesthetics.
- An organized individual with the ability to manage content on a Digital Asset Management platform.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with creating content for specific target audiences (parents, staff, alumni, campers, donors).
- Knowledge of Jewish camp culture is a plus!
- Adaptability and willingness to learn
