Material Handler

Location: Germantown, WI Work Schedule: 5a - 1p | 5-10 hours OT each week Contract to Hire - 6 month contract and then direct hire Qualifications: 5-10 years warehouse experience preferably with waste Great communication and be able to work directly with clients Willing to get their hands dirty and work hard List of task to be completed before tanker arrives in the AM Move totes in and around the yard Operate forklift to move drums and totes Make rounds to the labs to collect waste Looking for a hard worker with a good work ethic Our client is looking for a Material Handler . Responsibilities: Perform technical hazardous and non-hazardous containerized waste pick-ups and material movement from production areas and laboratories as well as assist the Program Manager with the segregation and packing of chemicals by hazard class during lab pack projects Conduct routine inventories of site waste accumulation areas Become proficient in bulk Tanker loading from Hazardous Waste tanks in tank farm Preparation of chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including assisting the Program Manager with creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the material Safe handling of hazardous waste containers on client sites, as well as loading/unloading of waste from vehicles Conduct chemical consolidations in central accumulation areas and production areas in required levels of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Properly maintain and don the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required by each unique work environment encountered Prepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policies Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to our clients Develop strong working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements ensuring our client’s compliance needs are met (e.g RCRA, DOT, and OSHA) Coordinate and communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processes Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Health and Safety practices Support onsite Program Manager with various other tasks as needed to ensure a safe and compliant operating program Basic Requirements : High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience or relevant military experience Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of information Must be able to maintain good attendance and punctuality Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues Ability to work overtime on a regular basis Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday) The Environmental Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive Valid US driver’s license Must have a reliable form of transportation Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening (inclusive of THC) Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis Preferred Requirements: Prior successful experience in a customer service role Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Ability to work non-routine shifts (Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat) #J-18808-Ljbffr The Planet Group
