Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes specify a 63-bed surgical acute unit with private and observation beds. Responsibilities include post-op care, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and managing drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN.
• Required Qualifications:
  Valid active Illinois license or confirmation of initiation of application process, BLS certification through the American Heart Association, and at least 1 year of clinical experience.
• Schedule:
  Nights shift; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Experience in post-op surgical care, critical thinking skills, good bedside manner, team player.
• Additional Information:
  Floor nurses do not titrate drips, handle common titratable infusions like Heparin, and manage ventilators, CPAP, and high flow oxygen devices. Telemetry patients are monitored via Phillips monitors at the central station. Float rotation may be required, with float-to-same level or team unit assignment. Orientation includes two shifts with a preceptor, plus additional training on EPIC and unit procedures.
