About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ER (Emergency Room) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1830-0700) Experience: Greater than 3 years of ER experience required License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS required Must-Have: Charge nurse experience preferred Description: Emergency Room Registered Nurse position available. Charge Nurse may take patient assignments. The unit consists of 19 ED/Urgent Care beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5. On occasion, nurse aides are present but not always. Respiratory Therapy is available in-house 24/7 for vents, CPAP, BiPAP. ER nurses are responsible for interpreting cardiac strips. Common diagnoses include STEMI, trauma, stroke, COPD, CHF, and sepsis. Responsibilities include clocking in and out of the facility. Nurses will titrate drips such as Propofol, Cardizem, and insulin. A willingness to train for House Supervisor is an added bonus. Block scheduling is available to some extent for night shifters. Self-scheduling is not allowed. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Holiday requirements include working every other holiday. There may be low census call on occasion. No floating requirements are expected. Charting system used is Cerner. Additional info includes that there are no monitor techs; ER nurses interpret cardiac strips.
