Supervisory Accountant Duties
As a Supervisory Accountant, you will:
- Supervise a workforce which is staffed primarily by accountants and/or accounting technicians. Direct, plan, assign, and determine priorities of work to be accomplished by subordinates, determine priorities, determine performance standards and evaluate performance of those directly supervised.
- Participate in the selection process, hear and resolve grievances and employee complaints, determine employee training needs, keep employees informed of management goals and objectives, and ensure that occupational safety, health, equal employment opportunity, and internal control principles, policies and procedures are complied with.
- Recommend to the Manager changes in assignments that would improve the efficiency of the workflow; revise internal work methods and practices; develop and implement new approaches and detailed procedures related to the operations of the group.
- Responsible for overseeing timely responses to inquiries and requests from customers; oversee the delivery of management reports to customers and to management; ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used to prepare reports; recommend processing changes to customers to improve services.
