Purchasing Manager

Job SummaryIndustrial Supply is looking for a Purchasing & Inventory Manager to lead our purchasing team and take ownership of company inventory performance.This position manages the team of buyers while overseeing inventory levels, inventory turns, purchasing KPIs, vendor performance, and purchasing processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable using data to improve inventory and purchasing decisions.What You'll DoLead and manage the purchasing team, ensuring daily responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.Own company inventory performance, including inventory levels, turns, and key purchasing KPIs.Review purchasing requirements and ensure purchase orders are generated efficiently and accurately.Analyze SKU performance, inventory levels, forecasts, lead times, and purchasing trends.Identify and address slow-moving, obsolete, discontinued, and dead inventory.Monitor vendor performance, fill rates, pricing, lead times, and freight.Meet with suppliers to address performance, pricing, inventory, and service opportunities.Manage purchasing and item data, including pricing, descriptions, units of measure, and catalog information.Review exceptions, expedite orders, and help resolve product availability issues.Manage vendor returns and pricing discrepancies.Work with Sales and other departments to understand customer demand and forecast inventory needs.Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and inventory efficiency.What We're Looking ForPrevious purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain experience.Experience leading or managing a team.Strong understanding of purchasing and inventory principles.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to understand and manage inventory KPIs and turns.Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.Strong communication and vendor-management skills.P21 experience preferred.Industrial distribution experience is a plus.Two or more years of college preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.Why Join Industrial Supply?For 110 years, Industrial Supply has built its business by taking care of customers and making smart investments in inventory, people, and supplier relationships.This position provides an opportunity to lead the purchasing team and have direct ownership of inventory performance across the company.If you're an experienced purchasing or inventory professional who enjoys leading people, analyzing data, and improving results, we'd like to hear from you.
