Position Announcement

Job Title: Special Education Bus Aide (Anticipated)

Opening Date: August 24, 2026 - Closing Date: Until filled - FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: based on BCS Salary Schedule - Expected Workday: 4 hours per day

Terms of Employment: 9-Month - Reports To: Director of Transportation

Job Goals

To assist in providing safe transportation of students to and from school

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and state Board of Education regulations

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Assists young or disabled students

Assists in maintaining discipline on the school bus

Assists in maintaining safety of students

Helps ensure compliance with all safety precautions

Performs related work as required

Files necessary paperwork and assists in maintaining files

Follows all school board policies

Other duties as may be assigned by transportation supervisor

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boaz City Board of Education.
