Sr. Property Accountant

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Property Accountant for a contract-to-hire position. This is a Full-Time, On-Site role in Georgia. The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily residential properties.
• Prepare and analyze monthly property financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Complete month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
• Reconcile property-related balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and security deposits.
• Partner with Property Managers and Operations teams to review financial performance, variances, and operating expenses.
• Assist with annual property budgets, forecasts, and cash management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ownership, lender, investor, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records within Yardi, MRI, Entrata, or similar property accounting systems.
• Support property acquisitions, dispositions, transitions, and year-end audit activities.
• Manage accounting responsibilities across multiple multifamily assets while meeting reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• 5+ years of multifamily property accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of property financial statements, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, Entrata, or comparable property accounting software.
• Experience with affordable housing, HUD, USDA, or LIHTC properties is a plus.
