Job TitlePay Range: $31.00 - $38.00/hourJob SummaryResponsible for planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating direct nursing care provided to residents. Responsible for preparation, delivery and documentation of medications and treatments to assigned residents. Document change of condition, unusual occurrences, weekly summaries, initial assessments, MDS assessments etc. in a thorough and legible manner. Assures notification to physician and responsible party with any change of condition with appropriate documentation. Responsible for knowing and following current federal, state and local standards and assuring compliance with standards functionsJob ResponsibilitiesFollows facility policies and procedures and federal / state regulationParticipates in facility quality management programFollows oral and written instructions accuratelyKeeps supervisor informed of work priorities and problemsResponds appropriately to emergency situations and disastersProvides a safe environment for patients, visitors and staffAssures security of environment to prevent exit of wandering residentsImplement the facility procedure for elopement if any resident leaves the facility without permissionFollows facility standards relating to customer serviceMaintains confidentiality of residents and other work-related issuesAssures that all residents are treated with respect and dignityFollows facility rules of conductAttends in-service related to work and completes required in-service annually; attends outside classes to enhance role and professional standards, as appropriateProvides timely notification of illness/absences to appropriate supervisor following departmental policy and timelineAttends facility meetings as assignedFollows dress code for work areaPerforms other duties as assignedSkills, Abilities and ExperienceAbility to perform nursing care per current community standard for long term care. Interact effectively with residents, visitors, administration, physicians, volunteers and staff; Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing Long Term Care Ability to read, write and speak English in a clear manner. Ability to understand and respond appropriately to cultural diversity.Educational Requirements/Licenses/CertificatesGraduate from an accredited nursing program. Charge nurse experience is preferred.
