Behavioral Health TechnicianWoodland Recovery Center provides evidence-based, multi-level care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Families and communities throughout Mississippi and beyond can find hope and healing through the care offered at Woodland Recovery Center.We are seeking Behavioral Health Technicians to add to our dynamic team who will support our Primary Mental Health Unit. Behavioral Health Technicians provide essential support to clinical staff by ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The BHT is responsible for monitoring patient activities, facilitating recovery-based education and group sessions, assisting with daily routines, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and safety standards. This role is crucial in fostering a positive and recovery-focused atmosphere for patients.ResponsibilitiesPatient supervision and supportAssist in patient care, including conducting luggage and body searches as part of intake proceduresMonitor and document patient behavior, ensuring adherence to the facility's policies and schedulesConduct regular patient check-ins, offering support and encouragement in their recovery journeySupervise and facilitate patient activities, ensuring engagement in treatment related programs and interventionsMonitor patients for signs of distress, behavioral concerns, or relapse triggers, and report findings to clinical staffGroup facilitation and patient engagementLead and facilitate book studies, recovery meetings, and educational sessions on addiction and coping skillsAssist in non-clinical group activities that reinforce positive behavior and promote wellnessEncourage patient participation in group discussions and structured recreational activitiesMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working in a mental health or behavioral health settingKnowledge of clinical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate recordsBasic understanding of crisis intervention techniques and mental health assessmentsAbility to work effectively with individuals experiencing serious emotional disturbances (SED)CPR certification required within 30 days of hireValid driver's license requiredPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in behavioral healthCertification as a behavioral health technician or equivalent credentialTraining in trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategiesExperience with discharge planning and care coordinationFamiliarity with electronic health record (EHR) systemsAdditional coursework or certification in mental health or social servicesAt Bradford Health Services, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients while fostering a supportive and rewarding workplace for our employees.
