Donor Center Phlebotomist

Job Description Paid training provided; no prior medical experience required, phlebotomy experience preferred. Job Overview Use healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process at fixed site locations. Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors while following all safety procedures during the collection of lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals. Watch the short video: rdcrss.org/lifesavingrole Key Responsibilities Connect personally with donors—listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning repeatedly. Maintain high levels of detail orientation to ensure the blood collected meets safety standards and can be safely transfused. Standard Schedule Variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate: $21.42 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a public setting. Current valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Physical ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, stand or sit for long periods, and adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes. Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience.
