TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with individualized educational services and support. We are currently seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area .

These positions are ideal for professionals who enjoy working directly with students and are committed to helping children develop positive behavioral, social, communication, and learning skills within a supportive educational environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will work directly with students to implement individualized behavioral strategies and interventions under the supervision of a qualified behavior professional. You will collaborate with teachers, special education teams, related-service providers, and other campus staff to help students successfully participate in the school environment.

In this role, you will:

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans and behavior-support strategies as directed by a supervising BCBA or other qualified behavior professional
• Provide one-on-one or small-group behavioral support to students in classroom and school settings
• Collect accurate data on student behaviors, skill acquisition, intervention effectiveness, and progress toward established goals
• Use reinforcement, prompting, modeling, redirection, and other approved behavior-analytic strategies to support student development
• Assist students in developing functional communication, social interaction, classroom participation, self-management, and daily living skills as appropriate
• Support students during academic instruction, transitions, structured activities, lunch, recess, and other parts of the school day when behavioral support is needed
• Follow established Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and campus procedures
• Help identify patterns or changes in student behavior and communicate observations to the supervising professional and educational team
• Respond appropriately to challenging behaviors while following student-specific plans, district procedures, and established safety protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records in accordance with district and program requirements
• Protect student confidentiality and maintain professional and ethical standards at all times
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and professional development as required
• Collaborate professionally with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to promote student success

Qualifications for This Position

• Current and active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet applicable BACB requirements for maintaining active RBT certification and supervision
• Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents with behavioral, developmental, or special education needs
• Strong communication, interpersonal, observation, and documentation skills
• Ability to consistently follow behavior plans, supervisory direction, and established procedures
• Ability to remain patient, professional, and composed when supporting students experiencing challenging behaviors
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, BCBAs, special education professionals, administrators, and other members of the educational team
• Previous experience working with children in a school, behavioral health, ABA, special education, or related setting is preferred
• Previous school-based RBT experience is a plus
