Job Summary: ED RN
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Shifts: 4x12 or 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Unit Details: 32-bed Emergency Department; average daily census of 120; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years ED RN experience
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Will work weekends as needed
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- On-call Requirement: None
- Floating: Will float within scope as needed
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Accepted; no radius restriction
- License: Active Illinois (IL) RN license or eligibility to apply
- Time Off Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days requested off
- Guaranteed Hours: May be called off up to 36 hours per 13-week contract without pay; excess cancellations will be compensated
- Work Environment:
- General Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric), Level II Trauma Center
- Cardiac monitoring (dysrhythmia interpretation/management, 12-lead EKGs)
- IV therapy/phlebotomy (blood product admin, central line care, IV starts)
- Medication administration (IV paralytics, sedation, vasopressors, emergency meds)
- Neurological cases (CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma)
- Orthopedic trauma care
- Pediatric emergencies (abdominal pain, asthma, burns, infections, mental health, etc.)
- Psychiatric emergencies (psychosis, overdose, violent behavior, suicide risk)
- Respiratory emergencies (chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, intubation, ventilators, ABGs)
- Shock/trauma (gunshot wounds, amputations)
- Professional skills (isolation precautions, triage)
- Additional skills (telemetry, ventilator management)
- Preferred Experience: Cerner charting, previous charge experience

- 280 staffed beds
