Extrusion ManagerThe Extrusion Manager is responsible for providing guidance, support and mentorship to all employees in the Extrusion department. This position is also responsible for achieving short and long-term strategic goals to ensure growth of the department and organization.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelinesExhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company's vision and strategiesContinuously build relationships throughout the department and company in order to best serve and support co-workers and employeesEnsure the department has the tools and resources to keep other departments informed of any delays or changes in scheduled arrival times of products required by the departmentWork with the Plant Manager to manage the department's labor and expense budget and ensure expenses are within the budgetProvide leadership to department team members:Communicate priorities and project assignmentsDevelop and implement adequate cross-trainingProvide continuing education, training and development opportunitiesProvide coaching to employees to support their grow within their position and the companyEnsure expectations and responsibilities are known and followedMonitor employee performance and assist with employee performance reviewsDelegate special projectsParticipate in the interviewing and selection process for department openings as neededIdentify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the departmentReview and analyze department data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendationsOversee continuous improvement initiatives in regards to revenue generation and top die performancePartner with the extrusion supervisors to manage work schedulesRespond to emergency situations during and after standard hours to resolve issues that may ariseDevelop and implement department goals and key measures that align with the mission, vision and values of the organizationPrepare for and participate in the development and preparation of capital requisition projectsDevelop and oversee department project planningPartner with various managers and teams to continuously analyze and ensure the quality of aluminum extrusions meets company standardsSupport and improve quality systems and expectationsPartner with other Alexandria Industries facilities to manage and monitor extrusion capacity, and help to appropriately distribute work when neededReview and submit employee time sheets bi-weekly and PTO requests as neededOther Job DutiesPerform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, Engineering, or related programGreen Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.Experience:5+ years of manufacturing experience required5+ years of Aluminum Extrusion experience required5+ years of leadership experience requiredOther required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to recognize safety concernsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to provide strong servant leadership to support team membersAbility to take part in continuous education and trainingAbility to interact at a high level with all levels of the organizationAbility to maintain professionalism and composure in every situationStrong knowledge and understanding of all key extrusion department componentsAbility to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutionsWork flexible hours, overtime and on-callExcellent project management skillsAbility to lead and influence othersBlueprint readingComp And BenefitsGroup Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) Retirement Savings Plan401(k) Company MatchFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Basic Life InsuranceShort-Term & Long-Term Disability InsuranceVoluntary Accident, Hospital & Critical Illness InsurancePaid HolidaysPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid Volunteer Hours (8hrs. per year)Company Provided Work UniformsTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)PPE ReimbursementThe anticipated pay range for this position is $70,000-$97,868 annually.
