Process Engineer

Now Hiring: Process Engineer Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite) Pay: Competitive, based on experience We are hiring a Process Engineer for a temporary onsite opportunity supporting automotive axle assembly operations. This role is ideal for experienced manufacturing professionals who thrive in fast-paced production environments and have a strong background in process improvement, equipment launch, quality systems, and lean manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Support and improve manufacturing processes for axle assembly operations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and throughput. Manage manufacturing equipment installation, commissioning, and project execution. Conduct process audits and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and best practices. Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and quality procedures. Lead variability reduction, lean manufacturing, and process optimization efforts. Perform ergonomic evaluations and recommend workplace improvements. Ensure compliance with plant, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 5+ years of Manufacturing Process Engineering experience in a production environment. Strong knowledge of process validation, problem solving, lean manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering principles. Experience with assembly operations, process improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, teamwork, and project leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma experience and Lean Manufacturing expertise. Knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, DOE, Gauge R&R, and capability studies. Experience with automotive components, axle assembly, or similar manufacturing operations. Equipment launch, project management, and ergonomic analysis experience. Familiarity with Visual Factory Management practices.
