Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across all ages, employing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment strategies that prioritize both immediate and long-term communication, swallowing, or cognitive goals.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that enhance language, communication fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamworking alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure cohesive care plans.
• Provide educational resources for patients and families to support therapeutic progress outside of clinical appointments.
• Deliver occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatients, ensuring a seamless treatment experience.
• Accurately maintain documentation per state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Proactively pursue continuing education and collegial collaboration to stay current with industry advancements.

Educational Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
