At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture. **Summary** CHS is looking for a **Hazmat Truck Driver** to join our team in **Sioux Falls, SD** ! This individual will be hauling fuel to customers locally and regionally. The schedule for this role will be Tuesday-Saturday, and **will require the driver to be in a sleeper truck when needed** . There could be some aditional weekend work during the busy seasons as needed. The ideal candidate would have a Class A CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsmenets and 2+ years of tractor trailer experience. Join our driving team and see where your career takes you. **Responsibilities** + Operate a semi-tractor and tanker trailer to deliver hazardous energy-grade materials to customer sites in a safe, compliant manner. + Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness. + Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures. + Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, coordinate with customers and internal teams. + Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs. + Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; submit maintenance reports and escalate repair needs and equipment issues promptly. + Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns; execute required response and reporting procedures. + Support related tasks such as equipment hookups, site readiness checks, and assigned duties **Minimum Qualifications (required)** + Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route) + Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required + 2+ years of verifiable CDL driving experience + Must meet age requirement + Ability to read, write, and communicate in English + Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately. **Additional Qualifications** + Demonstrated experience hauling hazardous materials + Demonstrated safety performance and consistent adherence to procedures in hazardous materials operations. + Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers. + Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment. + Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, which may include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse. **Physical Requirements** + Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds + Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and to the top of a tanker trailer + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.
