As an Engineer I – Hydro Lab Test, you’ll play a key role in validating the performance and reliability of products used by customers around the world.We are seeking someone with an Test Engineering background and a passion and interest in testing and problem solving.You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to design and execute test solutions, improve lab systems, and contribute to product development from concept through validation.What You’ll DoPerform performance and compliance testing on flow meters, sensors, and communication productsSupport the design and development of test setups, control systems, and automated data acquisition toolsCollect, analyze, and interpret test data to inform product performance and quality decisionsDevelop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and documentationTroubleshoot and support existing lab equipment, hardware, and software systemsAssist in defining test plans, scope, and timelines for engineering projectsCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teamsContribute to continuous improvement of lab capabilities and testing methodsWhat You BringRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to take initiative and work both independently and within a team environmentEffective communication skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsInternship, co-op, preferably 1–2 years of experience in engineering, testing, or lab environmentsExposure to programming or automation tools (e.g., Python, PLCs/Allen-Bradley)Familiarity with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or lab testing equipmentBasic understanding of software development concepts and data analysis methodsExperience working in a manufacturing or product development environmentKey Success TraitsCurious and eager to learn through hands-on experimentationProactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks and projectsCollaborative mindset with the ability to work across disciplinesStrong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement#EL123Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:Competitive PayAnnual Bonus Eligible for Annual Pay Increases Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage 15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
