Revenue Cycle Specialist

Role Description

Reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Manager and will assist to develop, plan, organize and implement current and future strategies to bill customers, process payments, minimize bad debt, improve cash flow and manage the overall health of the company’s receivables. Will assist with the day-to-day activities of the Revenue Cycle team which include but are not limited to billing, collections, accounts receivables and financial planning for patients. This position will work with the Revenue Cycle team to meet department long and short term strategic goals. Work is performed under minimal supervision and in accordance with established procedures. The Revenue Cycle Specialist position requires the use of computers and other office equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in medical billing, accounts receivables, and patient customer service.
• Prefer at least three years experience in medical billing, accounts receivables, and patient customer service.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, insurance companies and patients.
• Competency in computerized patient billing systems and appropriate computer software.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge, usage, and experience with CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
• Proven record of change management skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including letters, memos and emails.
• Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to research and analyze data.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Exhibit a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of the position.

Requirements

• Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
• Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Sitting for long periods of time and repetitive hand motions for data entry.
