Description: Extension for Transplant OR Tech. Candidates must participate in training for students and new staff. All candidates must possess skills in appendectomy, aseptic technique, care of scopes, fiber optic equipment, and handling of crash carts. Experience with cell saver, cholecystectomy, colon resection (open/LAP), and trauma is required. Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fire safety, and general OR procedures is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in high-level disinfection, instrument processing, isolation precautions, and universal protocol. Experience with organ donation, specimen handling, labeling, and sterilization/disinfection is required. A commitment to safety protocols, including laser and radiation safety, is expected. Candidates will participate in ongoing education and competency assessments as part of the role. This position requires teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support. The daily patient census is approximately 55-60, with the potential to work in various procedural contexts. The work environment is a teaching facility that emphasizes continuous learning and development. Candidates should be prepared to comply with all health and safety regulations. A strict policy on attendance will be enforced. This is a smoke-free facility.
