Summary Dietitian at Providence Non-RN – Oregon summary: As a Registered Dietitian at Providence Medford Medical Center, you provide inpatient clinical nutrition care by assessing patients’ nutritional needs, implementing medical nutrition therapy, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes. You utilize the Nutrition Care Process to develop and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans for patients at risk of malnutrition or with complex dietary needs. This role supports patient recovery and wellness through expert nutrition counseling and education in a compassionate healthcare environment. Join us in our mission to make lives better through compassionate and expert nutrition care. Description Dietitian – Inpatient Care at Providence Medford Medical Center 0.6 FTE, Day shift. Responsibilities Provides inpatient clinical nutrition care by assessing patients’ nutritional needs, implementing medical nutrition therapy, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process to develop and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans for patients at risk of malnutrition or with complex dietary needs. Provides medical nutrition therapy and professional nutrition counseling methods to patients, families and the community. Works closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide inpatient care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, performs nutrition-focused physical examination, interprets results and makes nutrition diagnoses, orders nutrition and diet orders, designs and implement nutrition care plans and evaluate outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished. Potential growth opportunities to advance to a Sr. Dietitian in this department. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Dietetics, foods and nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent. Master’s degree is only required for those entering the workforce after 1/1/2024 as a Dietitian. Coursework/Training Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian – Commission on Dietetic Registration Within 6 months (180 days) of hire Oregon Dietitian License Within 6 months (180 days) of hire Dietitian license in state of hire AND wherever care is delivered. 1 year experience with current adult learning theory in relation to nutrition education. 1 year experience with nutrition management of multiple disease states. Preferred Qualifications 1 year experience with managing nutrition in a clinical setting. 1 year experience providing medical nutrition therapy.
